NEW YEARS REGATTA IN HVAR
Just before the New Years Day, in picturesque waters of Hvar, a traditional international New Years Regatta, that attracts great attention from European navigators, is being held for categories “laser” and “optimist."
The organiser of this event is the sailing club Zvir (www.jkzvir.hr) from city of Hvar. By its long tradition, Hvar New Years Regatta gained great reputation, which brought significant commendation from ISAF and ILCA sailing federations. Competition results can be monitored on a web site www.laserinternational.org, and on a local page www.jkzvir.hr.
The four days of sailing festivity for categories “laser", “laser radial”, “laser 4.7” and “optimist”, by tradition ends on New Years Eve with the Memorial Zdenko Roić, 4 nautical miles long navigational regatta in laser categories.
This memorial was named after one of the founders of Zvir and this New Years parade of sails.
